Brian has been around racing all of his life. At a young age he was introduced to racing by his father Ray Fitzpatrick who owned several dragsters and started a business manufacturing racing engines. Brian started his racing career in the bracket classes with the sand drags. He also raced go-karts in the 100 cc Yamaha class and won several events. In 2001, he started racing again with the A-fuel class with the sand drags and currently holds the mile per hour and E.T. record for the B-pro turbo class.

In 2007, Brian moved to asphalt racing and introduced his 2JZ twin turbo Toyota dragster to NHRA at Englishtown, New Jersey during exhibition runs while racing with the NOPI drag racing series.

In 2008, Brian traveled around the United States and raced in the NHRA/NOPI Extreme Dragster Class. He finished out the season 2nd in the points beating all other imports in his class.

In 2009, Brian raced in two classes, Top dragster and then transitioned over to the Competition Eliminator class. At the end of the season Brian reached his goal of becoming the quickest import in the world with a record elapsed time of 6.33 seconds at 221mph at the NHRA Las Vegas Nationals in the Competition Eliminator Class.

In 2010, Brian will be racing in the Lucas Oil Division 7 series along with racing at select NHRA national events. In Pomona at the Winternationals he broke his own record and ran an elapsed time of 6.22 seconds at 226 mph. [video]

New Fitzpatrick / Lucas Oil Truck & CarrierOver the past weekend, Brian Fitzpatrick and the Fitzpatrick Racing Team tested the new motor and had good results, running a 6.40 with a top speed of 205, although Brian needed to shut off the engine at the high gear. Fitzpatrick Racing Sets New National Record!

With their new mascot Toby along for the ride, Fitzpatrick Racing took on the NHRA Jegs Sports Nationals and had a great weekend of racing. They started out as the number one qualifier at 6.28 seconds and 213 mph, and set a new national record at 6.36 seconds!

From there they made it to the Semi Finals, but due to a rain delay were unable to finish the race which has been rescheduled for later in the season at the Pomona Nationals.

Next up for Fitzpatrick Racing is Bakersfield for the NHRA Division 7 race. Will keep you posted with results!

Fitzpatrick Racing Turns in Blistering Performance at Pomona

"To start the season, Brian Fitzpatrick brought his little H/D to Pomona and quickly grabbed the top spot with a stunning 6.223. That, for the Comp junkies out there, was .777 under his national index. It was also one of the most spectacular runs in Comp history, at least in my mind. When you consider that he was driving a turbocharged six-cylinder car, that 6.223 is simply amazing. At that same race John Mihovetz was the number two qualifier with a 6.505 and that was .765 under his index. But it was at Pomona in November that John really got everyone's attention. At the last race of the season John cranked out an other-worldly 6.333 at over 231 mph. For the record that was .937 under his index. Neither Brian nor John won the races where they set those big numbers but their performances earn a spot in the Comp Hall of Fame nonetheless. At least I think they do. Congratulations to both. Remember, Bruno won the championship in '09 with a turbo car so maybe, just maybe, they are the wave of the future in Competition Eliminator." - from Drag Race Central's "From the Tower" by Bob Frey
